Files & folders
Search, read, create, edit, copy and move – in every folder the operating system allows, including network drives.
Install AIPE Desktop on any Mac or Windows PC – in the office, the warehouse or the server room. Then assign tasks to that computer from any chat, in the browser or on your phone. AIPE completes them there, with that computer's files, programs and browser.

In three steps
Install AIPE Desktop on the computer that should do the work and sign in with your AIPE account. It appears under Devices & Workers.
On that computer, turn on “Enable remote tasks on this computer”. Without this local opt-in it accepts no tasks from other devices.
In chat, pick the Worker with @ and describe the task – in the browser, on another computer or on your phone. Watch progress and results live.
What the Worker can do
The model plans in AIPE; execution happens locally on the selected Worker. That lets AIPE reach files, programs and network drives that have no cloud interface.
Search, read, create, edit, copy and move – in every folder the operating system allows, including network drives.
Create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly on the computer.
Commands, scripts and project processes run in a real terminal with live output in the console.
Check Git status and diffs, run lint, type checks, tests and builds, and respect project hooks.
A separate browser next to the chat: open pages, work through forms, capture screenshots and downloads.
Mouse, keyboard, scrolling and clipboard – for desktop software without an API, such as legacy line-of-business apps.
Subtasks run durably and in parallel. Inspect, steer, pause, resume or stop each one – on mobile too.
Every multi-step task starts with a plan. You see which step is running and what is done.
Text edits made by AIPE are saved as encrypted checkpoints and can be restored selectively.
Control & security
A Worker belongs to exactly one user in one organization. Permissions, approvals and opt-out are built into the product, not just described.
In “Ask first” you confirm risky actions. With “Free hand” AIPE works without individual approval prompts.
When an action needs your consent, it shows up as a card in chat, on your phone and as a notification. If it expires, the task pauses – it is never approved automatically.
Remote tasks can be switched off on the computer at any time. After that it no longer carries out remote actions.
Every Worker signs in with its own device key. Tasks and approvals are bound to device, user and action.
A file only leaves the computer when you confirm publishing it. Then you download it from the chat on any device.
Terminal input is only possible on the executing computer and never reaches the model or the chat.
Built for mid-sized companies
Merge exports from local software, build Excel reports and bring the file back into the chat.
Tidy up folders, rename documents by rule and search content across many files.
Change code on the development machine, start tests and builds, and follow the console on the go.
Operate software that only runs on that one computer – step by step, with your approval.
Check websites, fill in forms and keep results as screenshots or downloads.
Hand a task to the office computer from a customer meeting and open the result on your phone.
A Mac or Windows PC running AIPE Desktop that you give tasks to from any AIPE chat – in the browser, on another computer or on your phone. The model plans in AIPE; execution happens locally with the files, programs and browser of that computer.
macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon and Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. The computer must be switched on, run AIPE Desktop and be connected to the internet.
No. Remote tasks must be enabled directly on that computer and can be switched off there at any time. The Worker belongs to exactly one user in one organisation and signs in with its own device key.
You decide. In “Ask first” mode you approve risky actions as a card in the chat, on your phone or via notification; if an approval expires, the task pauses and is never approved automatically. With “Free hand”, AIPE works without individual prompts.
Result files only leave the computer when you confirm publishing them. Content the Worker reads for a task is processed by the selected AI model so it can plan the next steps. Your own terminal input, such as passwords, is only possible on the computer itself and reaches neither the model nor the chat.
If the Worker is busy, AIPE queues new tasks. If it is offline, it does not accept new tasks.
Text changes made by AIPE are saved as encrypted checkpoints and can be reverted selectively.
Three questions about tasks, time and computers. Then you see how to set up your first Worker.
One download. One opt-in. Then reach that computer from any AIPE chat.
